Zephyr and Zephyr. Wind, mythology, design.

Zefiro is the west wind that accompanies explorers, that gentle breath that guided Ulysses towards the new. An invitation to let yourself be carried away by curiosity, a value at the base of EGOUNDESIGN that has always been driven by exploration and the search for new creative possibilities.
From this inspiration are born Zefiro e Zephyr, two vases that tell the dualism between home and travel, between the stability of everyday life and the impetus towards new opportunities.
Made of biobased PLA through 3D printing and completed by a sail in heavy-weight paper, they combine visual lightness and a strong sculptural presence. The sail wraps around the body of the vase and closes thanks to an upper cut that blocks the edge of the sheet, transforming the cleanliness of the shape into a lively and incisive gesture. This detail evokes a dynamism that is at the same time functional, ensuring stability and solidity, and aesthetic, to represent the wind.
Clori and the embrace of the wind. Design and mythology.
Sailing is not only a technical choice, an expression of minimal simplicity, but a dialogue between design and culture. In Greek mythology, Chloris, goddess of flowering and wife of Zephyr, represents spring and renewal. In Birth of Venus by Botticelli, Chloris is embraced and wrapped in Zephyr's cloak. This gesture inspired our creative path, transforming the sail into a symbol of harmony between transport and stability, between novelty and protection.
Furthermore, the PLA body of the internal vase, designed to recall the dualism between curves and edges, constitutes an element that, wrapped and protected by the white of the paper, takes on characteristics of mystical preciousness, recalling the delicacy of classical myths.
Paper as a challenge: reinventing an unexpected material
With Zefiro e Zephyr, we wanted to reinterpret an essential and delicate material like paper, transforming it into a structural and interactive element. The sail that envelops the stem The vase is not born ready-made, but takes shape through a construction process: the user is guided in transforming a two-dimensional surface into an object by making folds and cuts, according to the graphic instructions provided.
The sail, before being composed, is also a blank canvas to be customized with drawings, signs and writings allowing everyone to say something or tell their own story. Thanks to the heavy weight (220 gsm) and the study of cuts and folds, the paper completes and redefines the vase as a dynamic and statuesque object, sharp and enveloping.
Zefiro and Zefiretto are objects designed to be present in a space, to be witnesses of stories and bearers of character, lightness and poetry, remembering that discovery always comes from letting oneself be carried away.
